Hyundai will do NOTHING about it. They had the car in several times and each time said they could find nothing wrong. See

I paid way too much for this car to now have paint falling off. Problem started happening over 2 years ago. Now, where they repainted the hood, larger chunks are coming off. When the pieces get stuck to the windshield, you have to pull over to remove them from both the windshield and wiper blades. The cabin is very noisy and storage space is much reduced from earlier models. It's peeling everywhere each day a new spot blows up. This is a complete pain. The 2017 Elantra introduced Hyundai's "Self-Healing Paint" on its Pearl White models. Ive called Hyundai Corporate, my dealership and BBB to file complains and there is nothing being done about this issue. This vehicle has been thoroughly inspected, serviced, and detailed, drives really smooth & strong with absolutely no mechanical issues at all. What a joke. The car only has 14,000 miles on it and this is absolutely ridiculous. I will be filing a complaint. problems related to paint (under the structure category). Obviously this is a manufacturer defect yet Hyundai will not respond, nor will the courts, nor will the NHTSA issue a recall, etcIt is just "tough luck" for owners, we simply have to pay for the repair. But who's to say once I get these spots repainted that other areas are gonna start doing the same thing with flaking and peeling. 
I have also had to replace light bulbs the first year and the the rear door handle just fell off. They repainted the hood & didnt charge me. Statae Farm Insurance will not cover either. So disappointed. 
It is understood that there is not a recall because its not under safety. I had a 2002 Santa Fe that I drove for 300,000 miles, great paint job and wonderful vehicle. Started as a crack in paint then after a light rain paint is bubbled up all around the crack. The owner claims that even washing the car resulted in peeling. Seems to be an issue with most of these cars and they cant put a recall on it???? Ive had my Hyundai for 2 years an on the top front of my hood the paint started to chip small an as it rains I reckon (I do not take my car through car washes bc Im aware those chip paint) & it has began to chip in other areas on the hood inches from the following chipping. I dont recommend this car. But by catching this issue early, the automaker has potentially saved lives. Seats 5 comfortably with lots of room in the back. The Rear Seat rating is derived from the Side Barrier Rear Passenger rating. The Side Barrier test simulates an intersection collision between a standing vehicle and moving barrier at 38.5 mph. I am a senior who hoped to have a good car and ended up with what will become a bucket of rust. There is no investigation currently underway regarding the 2017 Elantras paint-chipping problem, and it is difficult to imagine a scenario in which peeling paint poses an immediate safety risk. The complaint claims that the defect in the paint, which was present upon delivery, manifests itself over time, causes the paint to bubble, peel and flake off of the . This is obliviously a paint/clear coat issue with paint code WW8 and I am not the only one going through this. Hyundai urges owners to take their affected Santa Fe SUVs to an authorized dealer to fix the potentially deadly problem. How has hyundai not recalled the pearl white painted vehicles? 
I purchased a used Hyundai Sonata in Arkansas and the paint starting peeling off before I even made my first payment. Cars arent waterproof?? I have a 2016 Hyundai Sonata and in 2020 the paint started chipping on the roof. I have read so many others complain about the exact same issue. I am absolutely so disgusted with this company. This complaint was filed in Durham, North Carolina, with an incident date of April 11, 2019. The blisters soon after started peeling. We'd expect our paint to remain, maybe the top coat to blister over time, but not the entire paint to lift. But recalls are not always issued for the reasons you expect. Hyundai has not yet provided an owner notification schedule for this campaign. White paint on my 2017 elantra hyundai is coming off in large sheets. They do not do anything, only mention it isnt covered under warranty anymore. Never have I ever seen this before. In a couple of cases, buyers have also reported the engine unit seizing, unexpectedly. Shortly after that the drivers door frame above the window just started flaking off large pieces of paint like it didnt have a primer or base coat. NHTSA does not record VIN information or results provided through this tool. One of the features that was mentioned to me was that the car had a special protective paint coating to stop fading and corrosion. I don't think with this problem I can specify if vehicle was moving or staionary as information asked to include in all complaints. all problems of the 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe
They said just bring it back and we will fix it as it happens. We can not wash it due to this paint issue. The paint started to come off two years into owing the vehicle. Theres no dents, roof was not hit anywhere that would have caused paint to chip. I was given Keystone Hyundai or Goodwill to file a case, with them (which I did so on their parking lot) and spoke to Veronica (supervisor) at Keystone. I was told to take the car to get an estimate to get the paint corrected then the dealership will try to get warranty to cover it. I've got problems with door handles too. Little by little to start with and then in sheets especially when wet. Road noise is excessive even by California's standards and the suspension is not very good. THEY SHOULD HAVE PAINTED THE WHOLE CAR OVER. Suddenly just the other day I started to notice big chunks of paint coming off just above my windshield, and big chunks of pain coming off each side of my hood. I was told by Andre that a lot of vehicles had paint issues. Bought this car my son to drive while in college and noticed paint peeling on the hood. CL. More stars mean safer cars. An electrical short brought on by a broken Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) module could ignite an engine compartment fire. Seriously?? Regarding the vehicle I find it reliable but the paint needs better quality control and Hyundai needs to do right by the consumer and official have recall to address the paint issues. 
I was told it is not part of the paint recall. Hyundai said they would cover it and if I had any other paint problems to bring it back and they would cover it.

I have a Pearl White 2017 Elantra and the paint is peeling off hood and above windshield. I looked online and other individuals had a similar issue with their Hyundai. The dime size chip is now 4 inch wide by 8 inch long paint peel! I think they are well aware of this issue and should pay 100%.
