A world away from Glasgow, but barely 50 miles as the crow flies, it is home to a large population of red deer and wild goats that roam the open moorland. Head back to Cruib via the coast, giving time to explore the numerous hidden caves and sweeping raised beaches (allow six hours for the 9-mile round trip).
